The ?Prepared Mind' at a time of crisis
The International Family Offices Journal
Vol. 3 - Iss. 1 pp. 13–17
Sep 2018
John Deverell shares a wealth of knowledge about the value and importance of having a ?prepared mind'. He attributes this concept to two people: first, to Louis Pasteur, who said: ?Fortune favours the Prepared Mind?. Second, to Ulf Henriksson, who took Invensys plc into the FTSE-100 and used the expression to describe the state of mind required to deal with potential crises. It was to be achieved through forward thinking, training and teamwork. John includes many practical examples of those with a prepared mind and the crises they managed well, and those without a prepared mind who failed dismally. The lessons are quite pertinent for all family offices.
