The International Family Offices Journal

Some unique insights into the emotional impact of the COVID pandemic, by Thayer Willis and Ruth Steverlynck. They begin by addressing a largely hidden topic - the emotion of guilt which is felt by so many who are privileged enough to manage easily during the pandemic while so many others cannot. With a nod to a related topic they include a decision tree when asked to make loans to others. For weathering the storm, they offer six practical steps for actions that affirm core beliefs, and suggest that looking back after the storm: By anchoring in our core certainty, we were able to take responsibility for what we had control over: compassion and care for ourselves and compassion and care for others. In so doing, we will find we have made surviving the storm a little easier than it might have been. They close with the hopeful message: ?We will make it through this.?
