If pre-released details of the upcoming RollOnFriday Firm of the Year survey are representative of engagement across our sector, we are making progress with people being truly engaged at work and committed to their firms, but still have a way to go. We know that people ?leave leaders not firms' so perhaps these attitudes are indicative of leadership quality. Highly engaged and committed teams are less likely to experience mental health problems and, with current mental health awareness, legal leaders want to avoid problems ?on their watch'. This article shows ways in which lawyer leaders can uphold their legal and moral responsibility for the mental health of individuals while boosting the mental performance and resulting commercial impact across their full team by concentrating on keeping team energy high.
