It must have been a little more 10 ten years ago - while I was still with a law firm - that as a team we frequently had to pitch for business. This regularly involved giving a fee quote. Fear of losing the pitch because of the price meant we always tried to come up with a competitive quote. After winning the business, despite all our experience, we often found that in the end we went way over budget and actually lost money. How frustrating.
