All humans harbor fears. Fear is the human response to a specific stimulus or event that we consider dangerous. Some fears are well known, such as a fear of flying, heights, snakes, confined spaces or public speaking. Confronting these situations (or sometimes just thinking about them) may cause unpleasant physical sensations such as increased heart rate, shortness of breath, dry mouth and nausea, among others. It causes our minds to race, making it difficult to concentrate or find solutions in the moment. They are feelings we may also experience with anxiety and there are similarities between both.
