One of the most promising areas of growth within the legal sector is the burgeoning field of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG). In our interview with Nicole Bigby, the inaugural Sustainability and ESG Director at Fieldfisher LLP in London, she emphasizes the importance of adaptation and resilience in driving sustainability-linked opportunities for business growth. "For our business to change and adapt," Nicole explains, "ensuring it is resilient and seizing sustainability-linked opportunities to grow is paramount. In sustainability and ESG-related issues, the law is often perceived as a lagging indicator. Managing these issues requires sophisticated and complex strategies to ensure the firm is aware of diverse needs and opportunities, driving strategically coordinated and aligned management, and seeking to galvanize business transformation."
