Shockwaves continue to run through the legal sector as the Trump administration steps up its attack on what it terms "unlawful DEI practices", claiming that they contravene the Civil Rights Act 1964. The US Equal Opportunity Commission recently wrote to 20 firms requesting detailed information about equality practices, the inference being that they intend to scrutinize hiring and promotion decisions for any potential "criminality".
