Abdullah Adib AlZamil is managing director of the Zamil Private Office – the single family office of the Zamil family of Saudi Arabia. Their business was founded in 1920, with international investment activities beginning in the 1970s. Abdullah led the spinout of the investment activity into a fully staffed single family office, overseeing the migration to newly created corporate structures and the creation and implementation of governance tools and mechanisms. His role involves managing a substantial private equity and real estate portfolio, as well as managing the personal investments and family affairs of the Zamils.
Abdullah has a BSc in chemical engineering (2002) from KFUPM in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia and an MSc in management (2005) from Cass Business School, London. Before assuming his role, he worked at Jacobs Engineering in London as a consultant on the design of petrochemical processes and equipment. Abdullah is married with three children and is based in Bahrain.

Barbara R Hauser has some 30 years of experience in the field of family governance. She is the author of International Family Governance: A Guide for Families and Their Advisors (Mesatop Press, 2009) and International Estate Planning: A Reference Guide (Juris Publishing Inc, 2nd edition, 2020). A graduate of Wellesley College and the University of Pennsylvania Law School, she had the honour of clerking at the US Supreme Court. She is the president emeritus of the International Estate Planning Commission of the Union Internationale des Avocats.
